Garden Soil

WHY?

The name of this planet derives from the eighth century Anglo-Saxon word erda, which means soil. Soil is the basis for all life on land. The womb in which we all came from. Our Mother.

You might be surprised to learn there are more living things in one teaspoon of living soil than there are people on the planet. One gram of soil can contain several billion life forms from thousands of different species.*

Soil is currently going towards extinction at a tremendous rate.

It is said that if we continue the agricultural practices we currently employ, we will have about 40-50 years left until the soil will be so depleted it can no longer produce food.

Then we have a problem.

But let’s not get there. We can turn it around, it is just a matter of prioritizing.

SoilMother is trying to address this challenge by creating a Mother for our Mother. By creating a space in which living soil can thrive. A tangible little, eco-system that fits inside our homes and restaurants.

How cool isn’t it that the byproduct of great soil is great, delicious food?

When we fix things at a fundamental level the cascade of positive consequences will be tremendous. A true Win-Win-Win-Win… situation.

Let’s make it happen.
